In connection with the Xbox game console’s 20th anniversary, Microsoft is releasing a documentary series about how the machine was created. On Monday, it was twenty years since the Xbox was released (also the “Halo” series), which Microsoft celebrates with an upcoming six-part documentary series about how the machine came to be.
The series is called “Power On: The Story of Xbox” and will be released on Youtube on December 13.
This is the official description: “Xbox almost did not exist. Find out why in this series that goes behind the scenes and takes you back to the unplanned beginning of Microsoft’s game console. This is the never before told story of the people behind the box, glitches and all “.
It’s always fun to hear the story of how a game or console came to be, so this will probably be fine – as long as it is not arranged and spliced given that it is produced by Microsoft themselves. Hopefully it tells the whole story, with “glitches and all”.
Since the first Xbox console was released on November 15, 2001, Microsoft has given us the Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X. A few years ago, they launched the Game Pass subscription service, which gives you access to hundreds of both new and old games for a monthly fee.
A few years ago, Netflix released the documentary series “High Score”, which goes through the game history from the beginning to modern times. A few months ago, the SVT series “Det svenska spelundret” also came out.
